A limited series, The Spanish Princess charts Catherine of Arogon’s journey to become
Queen of England and her struggle to hold on to the crown as Henry VIII’s first wife.
Season 1 of The Spanish Princess was my first chance to really spread my directing wings in terms of scale. I discovered that not only do I love directing the detail and nuance of emotionally intimate scenes I also love bringing to life the big set pieces. The combination of amazing locations, exciting scripts and a wonderful cast was addictive. I wasn’t available to accept an offer to open season 2 but later episodes presented me lots of wonderful opportunities.
